Tent? Check. Bug spray? Check. Cell phone, iPod and teenager wearing their “why me?” face? Check.
While mom and dad might be looking forward to a weekend under the stars, chances are your teenager
is dreading his or her date with Mother Nature. If you plan on asking your teen to venture into a world
that offers frankfurters instead of Facebook, and tents instead of Twitter, be prepared to be awarded
the title of “Uncoolest Parent of the Year.”

Once in a while, I post something out-of-character on this blog. Such as this article on Wild Camping by my friend at Socialcamper.com Well, anything that gets us outdoor more should be encouraged, so here it is:
There’s one thing that unequivocally does not belong at the campsite – glass containers. We’ve all seen it – shards of glass around the fireplace, under the picnic table or partially buried in the sand at the beach. For a parent, broken glass is public enemy #1.
The alternative has always been those cheap, plastic or paper disposable cups. However, this only helps part of the problem because then there’s excess garbage to pack out or, even worse, it gets left behind. How many times have you arrived at a campsite to find broken glass and/or disposable cups scattered throughout? It’s disgusting, bad for the environment and presents many safety issues. Well, thankfully, with the Silipint, you can say goodbye to broken glass and throwaway cups.
Simply put, Silipints are the perfect camping vessels. They’re pint-sized glasses but made from 100% food-grade silicone, meaning they’re unbreakable, reusable and quite fun! Silipints have twice the insulating value as glass, meaning they’ll keep your coffee warmer or your favorite beer colder, while keeping your hands comfortable. They’re like a koozie and a glass combined!
Since Silipints are light and malleable, they pack well whether you’re backpacking or car camping. They withstand ridiculously hot temperatures, meaning you can use your Silipints for boiling hot coffee, hot chocolate or oatmeal! You can even pour spitting bacon grease into Silipints or poach an egg in boiling water!
Just think, now you can have eggs Benedict in the backcountry, pack your bacon grease out, not agonize about broken glass, and drink your favorite beer next to a campfire, worry free!
